king of stars and betrayal

The King reaches for a crown that is already gone.

work note

king of stars and betrayal closes the court's story with the cost of the Jack's ambition and the Queen's deceit. The Queen's betrayal leaves the King wounded physically and emotionally, stripped of his crown and the trust he placed in her. His hand finds a bare head as he looks upward, still searching for what he has lost.
